Youth and Children
Kids of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate fully in the life and worship of our congregation.
Children’s Church
Children’s church is geared towards kids ages 4-12 and is held each Sunday during the school year during our regular Sunday service. Kids are dismissed after the Children’s sermon and generally return for the closing song. If they run long, parents are welcome to pick them up after the service in the nearby classroom. Volunteers to lead a Sunday are always welcome and teaching materials are provided.
For the 2024-2025 school year, we are using the “All In One Sunday School” curriculum published by Group Publishing.
Mighty Warriors Kids
Mighty Warriors Kids is an initiative of the North Kossuth Ministerial Association and invites all students who attend the Swea City Elementary school, regardless of their church affiliation, to join together for a time of worship, games, and Bible study each Wednesday after school. Adult volunteers meet the students at the school to walk to our meeting place and the program lasts 90 minutes.
Youth Group
While we don’t have a fancy, catchy name, we do have a lot of fun! Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to join us for Wednesday evenings at the church from 7:00pm to 9:00pm for a time food, Bible Study, and games. Most weeks we start by hanging out in the kitchen and enjoying the snacks parents have provided then we settle into a time of Bible study and prayer using a variety of video based studies from Right Now Media. Afterwards, we grab a favorite game or make up a new game as we hang out until its time to head towards home. Youth group meets most weeks from September-April and is hoping to have so some special monthly events May-August.
